BEGINNERS

Welcome to Sung Ming Shu Dojo's
Beginner's Page!

Welcome to Sung Ming Shu!  If you signed up at the dojo then you have probably received some or all of this information already.  There are several sheets and pieces of information here, though, that aren't at the dojo.

Release and Contact Information

If you've already filled out these 2 forms at the dojo,
then you are all set.

If not, Print, Fill Out, and drop them in the Black Tray
by the fire extinguisher at the entrance to the dojo floor.

Uniform

On the right is an illustration of the proper placement of the patches on the uniform.

When you are placing the patches before sewing or preparing to write or illustrate the name, be sure to wear the uniform so that the name or patch won't end up in your underarm.

It's also a good idea to have your initials on your pants (by the tag) in case they get left in the dojo.

Fundraising

Sung Ming Shu is a non-profit entity, and all of the instructors volunteer their time.
This is why our dues are so much lower than most martial arts schools.
We cover our operating costs with student dues, but we also engage in fundraising for
Maintenance and Improvement (providing new training equipment and repairs), the
Building Fund
(money we're saving to hopefully purchase the space we're in or to relocate when our lease expires), and the Leadership Award (a scholarship for Sung Ming Shu After-School Programs).

If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to any of these, you may drop a clearly labeled check in the box or use a credit card on our Donations Page and earn some miles while you're at it.  We'll send you a receipt for your taxes.
